Meet Our 2023 Summer Intern Cohort

This year we welcomed our second summer intern cohort at RVFB! Interns support us in making our mission a reality, by working alongside our staff, including development and distribution. Through partnership with local employment programs, such as Teens in Public Service, Youth Social Impact, and Track, we provide interns with valuable professional experience, preparing them for their future paths.

Meet our Interns!

Cora

Cora was one of our high school interns, joining us for the summer through Teens in Public Service! She spent the past few months working with our development team. Her internship goal is to learn about client relations and customer service. In the future, she plans on pursuing psychology and marine biology. A fun fact about Cora is she loves to run long distance.

Mohamed

Mohamed joined our RVFB team from the Track program! Mohamed’s internship is focused around helping guests access resources in our distribution center. As food is passed out, Mohamed collects and breaks down cardboard boxes. His career goal is to become a bus driver and he enjoys taking walks whenever he has free time.

Reggie

Reggie joined us from the Youth Social Impact program! Reggie interned in our distribution center, helping wherever is needed. He tacked a variety of jobs, some of which included breaking down and compacting cardboard boxes or shelving and distributing food. His goals of this internship were to learn how to work better in teams and improve communication skills. Reggie is considering pursuing careers in robotics, content creation, or as a soldier. Outside of interning, Reggie enjoys reading and watching movies.

Rodrigo “Rush”

Meet Rodrigo “Rush”, one of our distribution interns who joined us from Youth Social Impact! A couple of his day-to-day tasks included passing out food and baby diapers during Grocery Shopping. He viewed his internship at RVFB as a time for personal growth. In the future, Rush is working to become a neurosurgeon. Some of his favorite hobbies are going for walks and exercising.
