Development Support specialist

Meet Hilary! She’s one of our newest team members at RVFB! She joined our development team this past July, bringing her expertise in data entry and developing creative ways to engage our awesome donor base! Growing up in the Midwest, Hilary was born and raised in Ohio. In search of a new experience, she moved to Chicago, spending much of her time as an adult there. 3 years ago, she decided that Seattle held the promise of a new adventure.

Though Hilary hasn’t been at the food bank for long, she has been embraced by the warm community here. In her words, her favorite part of working at RVFB is the people! “It’s only been a few weeks, but everyone is so kind and welcoming. I feel supported and encouraged and excited to be here!” She hopes to be a resource while building two-way relationships with community members and donors.

Her favorite spot in the neighborhood to grab a meal is Delish Ethiopian Cuisine. There, she opts for a veggie or chicken platter -- perfect to share with a group by the way. Her favorite food is sushi, especially nigiri, noting that the sushi in Seattle is amazingly fresh.

Outside of work, Hilary loves to spend time outdoors, whether it means reading at the beach or hiking with her husband and puppy. As someone who enjoys traveling, her favorite place she’s visited is Japan because of the friendly environment and tasty food. A fun, thrilling fact about Hilary is that despite her fear of heights, she jumped off one of the world’s highest bungee jumps in South Africa – though she shares, she’s not likely to try it again.

We’re excited to welcome Hilary to RVFB! If you see Hilary around the food bank, be sure to say hi and introduce yourself.
